Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare to arrange gas analysis measuring instruments
- WHS/OHS risk control measures and workplace procedures are followed in preparation for work
- Safety hazards that have not previously been identified are noted and risk control measures implemented
- Relevant person/s is consulted to ensure work is coordinated effectively with others involved on worksite
- Measurement parameters are identified by reviewing process requirements and instrument manufacturer instructions
- Tools, equipment and testing devices required for work are obtained in accordance with workplace procedures and checked for correct operation and safety
- Preparatory work is checked to ensure no damage has occurred and work is in accordance with workplace procedures
- Need to test and measure live work is determined in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Circuits/machines/plant are checked and isolated in accordance with WHS/OHS requirements and workplace procedures
- Arrange gas analysis measuring instruments
- Testing/measuring devices are connected and arranged in accordance with relevant industry standards and control system
- Measuring instruments are arranged and adjusted in accordance with workplace procedures and instrument manufacturer instructions
- Methods for dealing with unplanned situations are discussed with relevant person/s and documented
- Unplanned situations are dealt with safely and with approval of a relevant person/s
- Work is carried out efficiently without waste of materials or damage to apparatus, the surrounding environment or services using sustainable energy principles
- Complete and report set-up activities
- Worksite is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
- Adjustment settings are documented and relevant person/s notified in accordance with workplace procedures
